Moh ready for Oulton Park after being inspired at Le Mans
Sixteen-year-old racing driver, Moh Ritson, has been inspired for his upcoming race, the fifth-round of the Britcar Dunlop Endurance Championship at Oulton Park (22nd June), following his visit to the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019.
After spending time at the famous event, the pinnacle of endurance racing, Moh is ready for his next race and determined to get on the podium.
He said: “Le Mans was a real eye-opener into what goes on at the top level of motorsport. Nigel Moore showed me around his pit garage and his LMP2 car, and it was incredible to see and hear so much of the technical information concerning the car, and Le Mans as a whole, from the actual racing to the planning of the weekend. Just watching the cars out on track made me want to get racing again.
“After being inspired by my visit to Le Mans, I cannot wait to get out on the track at my favourite circuit of the season, Oulton Park.”
Moh will be competing in his Tockwith Motorsports (TMS) TRICO-sponsored Ginetta G50. Speaking about the circuit, Moh said: “I love the technical, tight corners of Oulton Park and the elevation change around the track. I have a good feeling about this weekend, I had two successful races here last year and I hope to grow from that and get an even better result.”
Moh will head to Oulton Park off the back of a new experience: up until Donington Park, his team-mate and reigning Britcar champion, Sarah Moore, had started every race, handed over to him in the pit-lane and then he completed the second-half of the race; however, Moh was in the car for the beginning of race two at the Leicestershire-circuit and produced an excellent opening stint.
Moh gained plenty of knowledge and confidence from that maiden start and has been applying that in the build-up to Oulton Park, as he explains: “I will be preparing for this weekend by spending some time on the simulator with Sarah. This will help me get even more familiar with the circuit and gain more confidence.
“The goal for this weekend is a podium, as I believe we have the potential for that – it’s just a case of when, not if. Overall, I am really excited for this weekend and feel that it will be another successful one.”
Personnel from Fusion by Design and Novo Integration, along with many of Moh’s friends and family, will be attending this weekend’s races. For the Leeds-based Ritson family, Cheshire’s Oulton Park is the closest Britcar circuit to home.
Along with Fusion by Design and Novo Integration, the TRICO-sponsored Ginetta G50 will be supported, as always, by Moh’s personal sponsors: Co-ordSport, Premier Martial Arts Leeds, Fusion Learning, and Moran Personal Training.
